SALISBURY, N.C-The Lees-McRae College men's tennis team saw Marko Zivkovic win the Flight B Singles at the Conference Carolinas Fall Tennis Preview.
Zivkovic was the only player to walk away with championship, but the team had four singles players and ones doubles team reach the final round of the tournament.
Zivkovic won his opening round 6-0, 6-0 over Erskine's Ryan Miller, then defeated Mount Olive's Diogo Sender, 7-6, 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals. In the quarters, Zivkovic beat Raahil Dhruva of Queens, 6-1, 6-4, and he defeated Henrick Nordquist from Limestone, 6-2, 6-1 in the semifinal round. In the finals, Zivkovic defeated fellow Bobcat Alex Hayes, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 to win the championship.
In the A Flight Singles, Nandor Solymosi, made it through to the finals before falling to Queens' Christian Lee-Daigle, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3.
In the men's Flight C Singles, three of the final semifinalists were Bobcats. Skylar Warren, Blair Propert and Callum Loveridge made it through with Warren falling to Anderson's Zakaharov, 6-2, 6-3 in the final round.
In the men's Flight B Doubles, the duo of Steve Karendal and Loveridge advanced to the finals but fell 8-6 to Barton's Stefani and Grobel.
