Bobcats ranked 23rd in Campbell’s/ITA Preseason Poll

SKILLMAN, N.J. --- The Lees-McRae College men's tennis team is ranked 23rd in the Campbell's/ITA NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Preseason Poll, announced officials from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Monday.

Lees-McRae enters the 2011 spring season looking to improve on last year's second-round finish in the NCAA Tournament, as the Bobcats fell to No. 2 Armstrong Atlantic. The Bobcats are under new leadership this season, with new head coach Keith Turner taking the helm looking to build on the program's success over the last few years.

Junior Nandor Solymosi (Drebecen, Hungary) begins the season ranked 23rd in the nation and ninth in the Southeast Region, fresh off his second straight All-Conference Carolinas First Team campaign. A native of Drebecen, Hungary, Solymosi ended last season ranked eighth in the region and 19th in the nation to earn a spot on the 2010 NCAA Division II ITA All-America Team.

The Bobcats, ranked eighth in the preseason regional poll, will open the season on February 2, 2011 in Belmont, N.C. against Belmont Abbey College.
