Hayes earns all-Conference Carolinas honors

HIGH POINT, N.C. --- Lees-McRae College senior Alexander Hayes (Mexico City, Mexico) has garnered all-Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis honors for the first time in his career, earning a spot on the first team, announced league officials Thursday.

Hayes has put together an impressive senior season with the Bobcats, compiling a 10-6 singles record while winning nine of 10 matches in conference play. The Mexico City, Mexico native has paced the Bobcats to three straight victories entering the conference tournament, including a 7-2 win over Pfeiffer University in which he registered a 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 2 singles.

Lees-McRae returns to the courts on Friday when the sixth-seeded Bobcats take on third-seeded Queens in the quarterfinal round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament at 12 p.m. at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.
