BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's tennis team will look to win its second straight match Saturday when it travels to Brevard College on Saturday. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
About the Bobcats: LMC, which comes into Saturday's match with a 1-3 record on the season, won its first match of the 2016-17 campaign last Friday when it blanked Greensboro College, 9-0. Senior Garrett Lakey leads LMC with a 2-2 mark in singles play so far this season.
Lakey is also a part of the team's top doubles duo along with Gabriel Muniz. The tandem of Lakey and Muniz also have a record of 2-2 in 2016-17.
About Brevard: BC currently holds a 1-5 record overall with its lone win coming on Oct. 8 against Mars Hill, 7-2. The Tornados have also taken on Lincoln Memorial, Coker, Southern Wesleyan, Belmont Abbey and Anderson (S.C.) so far.
Tom Mittring, who has played in the No. 1 singles position in five of the team's six matches, paces the Tornados with a 3-6 record. In doubles play, the duo of Chris Plasa and Cre Still have the best record at 2-0.
