The Lees-McRae College men's track & field team took to the track Friday and Saturday, January 26-27, at the Niswonger Invitational at ETSU in Johnson City, TN.
The meet showcased some of the world's top collegiate, post
collegiate, and professional athletes. Over 1,100 athletes from 60
teams competed in the two-day event including athletes from Clemson
and Virginia Tech as well as some professional athletes from
Reebok, Total Sports and others.
The top performance of the meet for the Bobcats belonged to Alan
Bachman (Nanjemoy, MD/H.E. Lackey HS) in the men's 400m dash.
Bachman, a red-shirt freshman competing unattached, completed the
race in 49.85 seconds to catapult him to an 8th place finish out of
Another strong performance was delivered by freshman Chris
Holstein (Middleburg, FL/St. John's Country Day) in the men's
5,000m. Holstein managed to drop another 30 seconds from his 5k
time from the previous meet to finish in 16:22.72.
The Bobcat men's track & field team will compete again on February 3rd at the Carolina Invitational at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
