Holstein Sets Personal Best in Outdoor Track Season Opener

Charlotte, NC--Lees-McRae's men's track team got their outdoor season started in the cold weather at University of North Carolina at Charlotte for the 49er Invitational. The distance squad of the track team participated in this meet, with the sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers traveling to Radford University to open the 2007 season

Leading the way for the Bobcats was freshman Chris Holstein as he ran a personal best time of 15:50 in the 5000m (3.1 mile race). Other Bobcats in action were Lewis Martin in the men's 1500m (4:10) and 3000m (8:45); Josh Blanc ran the 1500m and 3000m steeplechase, Matt Barrett in the 1500m and the 3000m where he set a personal best mark of 9:48, and Jon Bernal ran in the 1500m and 3000m as well.
