Pole Vaulters Lead Bobcats at Wake Forest Open

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Pole vaulters John Arthur and Ryan Oakes led the Lees-McRae College Bobcats men's track and field team with a second and a fifth place finish respectively at the Wake Forest Open in the first outdoor track meet of the season.

Arthur finished second with a height of 4.60 meters, 15'01", and Oakes with a height of 4.45m, 14'07", placed fifth.

The Bobcats will compete again at the Milligan Relays March 27th.

"Wake Forest was a great way to start the outdoor track and field season," head coach Ley Fletcher said. "We had many athletes that set personal records in events, which is an excellent way to begin the year. If we can continue to improve and build off of the performances we had today we will be where need to be when it is time for the big meets in April and May."
