DURHAM, N.C. -- The Lees-McRae College men's track and field team took a handful of athletes to compete in the Duke Twilight Meet over the weekend.
In the 3000m steeplechase, sophomore Craig Simpkins broke his own school record by 11 seconds with a time of 9:33.15 and finished third in the event.
Senior pole vaulter Jonathan Arthur finished second in the pole vault with a height of 4.90 meters, and freshman Allen Kelly took third with a height of 4.80 meters, which is new personal record.
Another notable finisher for the Bobcats, sophomore Michael Davis set a new personal record with a time of 4:00.73 in the 1,500m.
Freshman Brandon Williams ran a 15.74 in the 110m hurdles, and ran a time of 11.39 in the 100m dash, and freshman Bradley King and Brad Tanis ran times of 55.43 and 56.70 respectively in the 400m hurdles.
