BOONE, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae College men's track and field team posted a pair of school-record performances, and placed a trio of student-athletes in the top 10 at this weekend's Appalachian State Early Bird Meet.
Freshman Chris Turner (Clemson, S.C.) turned in the top performance of the day for the Bobcats, placing sixth in the high jump competition with a school-record jump of 1.93 meters. The Bobcats placed two student-athletes among the top 10 in the pole vault competition, as Evan Webb (Salisbury, N.C.) and Kevin Dever (Leesburg, N.J.) finished eighth and ninth, respectively.
Josh Oliver (North Wilkesboro, N.C.) also turned in an impressive performance in the 55-meter dash, finishing in a school-record time of 6.75 seconds for the Bobcats.
Lees-McRae returns to action on Jan. 15, 2011 at the Appalachian State Invitational in Boone, N.C.
