Bobcats top region poll for sixth straight week

NEW ORLEANS --- The Lees-McRae College men's track and field team leads the pack in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Southeast Region poll for the sixth straight week, announced USTFCCCA officials Wednesday.

Lees-McRae posted one of its best performances of the indoor season on Feb. 18 at the ASU Invitational, tallying 10 personal bests, as well as a new school record in the 55-meter dash by Brandon Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) The Bobcats also placed nine athletes in the top five, including a second-place finish by Williams in the 200-meter dash and a third-place showing by Bradley King (Hildebran, N.C.) in the 400-meter run.

Lees-McRae returns to action on Mar. 5 when the Bobcats open the outdoor season in Hickory, N.C. at the Power Sox Invitational, hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University.
