WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --- Freshman Evan Webb (Salisbury, N.C.) finished fourth in the pole vault to pace the Lees-McRae College men's track and field team on the second day of the Wake Forest Invitational, hosted by Wake Forest University.
Webb turned in a vault of 4.20 meters to finish fourth, while the quartet of Randall Wright (Westminster, S.C.), Bradley King (Hildebran, N.C.), Sam Youse (Winston-Salem, N.C.), and Brandon Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) placed 14th in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 43.28 seconds. King also finished 17th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.28 seconds to close out the day for the Bobcats.
In Friday's action, Craig Simpkins (Boiling Springs, S.C.) finished eighth in the steeplechase with a time of 9:58.18, while Youse turned in a 14th-place showing in group "B" of the high jump competition with a mark of 1.76 meters in front of his hometown crowd. Shawn Rowand (Charmco, W.Va.) also placed 34th in the javelin throw with a mark of 45.57 meters.
Lees-McRae returns to action on Mar. 25 and 26 in Rock Hill, S.C. at the Winthrop Asics Invitational, hosted by Winthrop University.
