ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Austin High (Chesnee, S.C.) posted his second top-10 finish of the weekend in the 1500-meter run developmental to lead the Lees-McRae College men's track and field team on the second day of the rain-shortened Asics Classic, hosted by Winthrop University.
High finished second in the 1500-meter run developmental with a time of 4:21.12, while Jared Lupton placed third in the 800-meter run developmental with a mark of 2:03.30. Corey Alexander (Atlanta, Ga.) and Eric Cloy (Ball Ground, Ga.) finished eighth and 10th, respectively, in the triple jump with marks of 12.15 and 11.78 meters. The quartet of Sam Youse (Winston-Salem, N.C.), Brandon Williams (Raleigh, N.C.), Bradley King (Hildebran, N.C.), and Randall Wright (Westminster, S.C.) closed out the day with a fifth-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 44.75 seconds.
On Friday, High finished sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:57.00, while Craig Simpkins (Boiling Springs, S.C.) placed eighth with a mark of 16:01.87 and Cloy turned in a 12th-place showing in the long jump with a mark of 6.17 meters.
The Bobcats grabbed the 11th, 12th, 13th, and 15th spots in the men's shot put competition. Devan Mackey (Hickory, N.C.) placed 11th with a mark of 11.87 meters, while Dimitrius Frazier (Charlotte, N.C.) and Jordan Wilbur (Chesterfield, S.C.) finished 12th and 13th with marks of 10.95 and 10.75 meters, respectively. Blake Rodgers (Chesterfield, S.C.) also placed 15th with a mark of 10.46 meters.
Lees-McRae returns to action on Friday, Apr. 1 when the Bobcats travel to Spartanburg, S.C. to participate in the Wofford Terrier Relays, hosted by Wofford College.
