HIGH POINT, N.C. --- Sophomore Tyree Reed turned in three top-12 finishes while the Lees-McRae track & field teams participated in the High Point VerKlasse Meeting in High Point, N.C.
Reed (Phenix City, Ala.) finished fourth in the 100- and 200-meter dash. The sophomore turned in a time of 10.82 seconds in the 100 before only needing 21.98 to complete the 200.
He joined Razhede Highsmith (Gastonia, N.C.), Davante Scott (Hopkins, S.C.) and Cody McNeely (Salisbury, N.C.) to finish 11th in the 4x400 relay in a time of 3:25.52.
LMC’s Christian Lloyd (Irmo, S.C.) cleared 4.32 meters in the pole vault to finish ninth.
Junior Benjamin Wilson (Salisbury, N.C.) set a personal record in the javelin, recording a distance of 43.66 meters.
Junior Tyler Pauley (Independence, Va.) was good for 20th in the 3000-meter steeplechase. He finished the course in 10:56.41.
Teammate Austin Thompson (Cleveland, Ga.) set a personal record in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:54.77.
Bobcats’ Erin Bingham (West Jefferson, N.C.) claimed ninth in the 100-meter hurdles with a sparkling time of 14.56 seconds.
Sophomore Jamie Colon (Acworth, Ga.) completed the 10000-meter run in 44:46.69.
The Bobcats will send squads to the Appalachian State Invitational in Boone, N.C. and the Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. next weekend.
