BRISTOL, TENN. - The Lees-McRae College Bobcats men's volleyball team swept King College, 3-0 (30-28, 30-25, 30-26) Tuesday night.
Led by Colin Kelly, who had 12 kills, the Bobcats quickly put away King. Chad Mercado chipped in 10 kills and two aces, and Ryan Black added eight kills and four block assists. Robert Ritchie had seven kills and three block assists. Jeff Black had three solo blocks, and Juan Ramirez passed out 36 assists.
"It was a match of streaks," head coach Jamie Petrik said. "At times, we looked smooth, made some great triple blocks, and served well. The best thing about the match is that we finished strong. Games one and three were close, tied at 25 or 27, but we took care of the ball. I thought Juan made some great setting decisions to put us into a position to win."
Lees-McRae will return to the court to Friday, February 13th in the Lees-McRae Mountain Classic at 7 p.m. against Warner Southern.
