Men’s Volleyball Drops Season-Opener to George Mason, 3-0

FAIRFAX, VA. - The Lees-McRae College Bobcats men's volleyball team opened their season with a 3-0 (21-30, 33-35, 20-30) lose to George Mason.

George Mason won the first set 30-21, but Lees-McRae made them earn the second set pushing the match past the 30-point mark. Mason took the second set 35-33 and finished the match with a 30-20 third set win.

Leading the way for the Bobcats was outside hitter, Jeremy Evans, who had 12 kills on 27 attempts. Raphael Vieira followed with nine kills, and Steven Bunning had eight kills. Juan Ramirez passed out 30 assists, and Justy Tevid had a team-high seven digs. Bunning and Robbie Rowe had two total blocks apiece. Rowe also led the team with one service ace.

The Bobcats will return to action in the Daytona Beach Tournament with a match against Johnson and Wales at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
