Evans Earns First Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. - Lees-McRae College's Jeremy Evans (1-3 overall, 0-0 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's volleyball Player of the Week during week number one in the 2010 season.
The junior outside hitter paced Lees-McRae offensively and defensively for the Bobcats during the first two weeks of the season.
Evans led the team with 12 kills against George Mason in the team's opening match.
In the team's first tournament Evans had 10 kills with .412 hitting percentage in the teams loss to Johnson and Wales. He also had nine digs in the match.
Against Grand Canyon, Evans had 13 digs at the libero position, and in the team's lone win of the tournament he compiled 18 kills and six digs.
He averages 2.67 kills per set and 2.13 digs per set in the season.
Since this is the first season that the Conference Carolinas
men' volleyball Evans is the first player to earn the award.
