Pfund set to join LMC Men’s Volleyball

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College Head Men's Volleyball Coach Henry Chuang announced Friday the addition of Reto Pfund (Möhlin, Switzerland) for the 2017 campaign. Pfund joins six other freshmen that are already on the roster for the upcoming season.

"Reto comes to us with a wealth of experience and a good understanding of the game," said Chuang. "His maturity and coach-ability will be vital in the development of our team culture. He is used to winning and I hope he can continue to foster that mentality."

Pfund comes to the Bobcats with some extensive accolades, including a three-year stint on Switzerland's Under-20 National team. He has also been a part of several successful teams notching an U19 National Championship in 2015 along with being a part of several second place finishes in a variety of leagues.

He has competed for Volley Smash 05 Laufenburg-Kaisten and attended high school at Gymnasium Muttenz.

Pfund and the rest of the Bobcats will open their 2017 season Jan. 13 when it hosts Lincoln Memorial inside Williams Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
