BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team will open its Conference Carolinas schedule Wednesday evening when it hosts King (TN) University at Williams Gymnasium. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
Last Time Out – LMC split a pair of matches on the road last weekend. The Bobcats picked up their second 3-0 victory of the season Friday sweeping Alderson Broaddus, but fell by the same 3-0 score at Charleston (W.V.) Saturday. With the results last weekend, the Bobcats' record stands at 2-2.
National Leader – Senior libero Keenan Freitas currently leads the nation averaging 3.57 digs per set. Freitas also has the most digs in a three-set match so far this season nationally with 17 last Saturday at Charleston (W.V.).
Hector hitting his spot – Sophomore Hector Serviat currently leads LMC with a .395 hitting percentage, which ranks fourth in the conference and 17th nationally.
About King – The Tornado enter Wednesday's match with a 4-1 record on the season. King's lone loss came at No. 11 George Mason on Jan. 20. A key in the Tornado's early season success has been their work on the block. King currently leads the nation averaging 2.79 blocks per set.
Series Rewind - King has won three straight matches from the Bobcats including two last season. LMC's last win against the Tornado came on Feb. 18, 2014 when it swept King, 3-0.
