BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team will start a two-match road swing beginning Friday evening at Lincoln Memorial. The Bobcats and Railsplitters are set to get underway at 7 p.m.
Last Time Out – LMC lost a 3-1 decision to King (TN) University Wednesday evening at Williams Gymnasium. The loss dips LMC's record below the .500 mark (2-3) for the first time this season.
Sobel Stat Rankings – Senior John Sobel leads the Bobcats with 63 kills so far this season, which ranks second in the league behind Mount Olive's Robert Poole who has 73. Additionally, Sobel also is third among Conference Carolinas attackers with 3.50 kills per set.
Conference Leader – Libero Keenan Freitas currently paces all Conference Carolinas players with 62 digs. Freitas's 62 digs are 15 more than the next closest player. The senior from Hilo, Hawaii also leads the nation averaging 3.44 digs per set so far this season.
Sweep Stat – Both of the wins by the Bobcats this season have been 3-0 sweeps. The last time that LMC has had two or more sweeps during a season was during the 2014 campaign. During that season, the Bobcats finished with seven 3-0 victories.
Series Rewind – Lees-McRae swept the Railsplitters in its season opener on Jan. 13. In that match, Wes Rogman led LMC with 15 kills on 26 attempts.
