BANNER ELK, N.C. – After stepping out of Conference Carolinas play last week with a match against Lindenwood, the Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team will return to conference play Saturday when it travels to Pfeiffer. The start time for the match is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Last Time Out – The Bobcats dropped a 3-0 decision to Lindenwood last Saturday in Bristol, Tenn. The loss dipped LMC's record to 5-13 on the season. With the loss to the Lions, the Bobcats wrap up their non-conference schedule with a 2-6 record.

Keenan Keeps it Rolling – Senior Keenan Freitas continues to be one of the top defensive players in the nation this season as the Hilo, Hawaii native is second in the nation averaging 3.24 digs per set. The only player to average a better mark in 2017 has been Joshua Ayzenberg of Sacred Heart who is averaging 3.49 digs per frame.

Player to Watch – A player to watch for Lees-McRae Saturday might be freshman Reto Pfund. Pfund has been one of the more consistent players for the Bobcats in road matches in 2017 leading the team in assists per set (10.00), service aces (5) and is second on the team with 51 digs in seven away contests.

Postseason Positioning – With just over a month to go in the regular season, LMC will look to not only lock up but also improve its positioning for the conference tournament. If the Bobcats make the field, it would mark their first postseason appearance since 2014. Currently, LMC is sixth among the 10 teams in the conference with a 3-7 record.

Series Rewind – LMC swept the Falcons earlier this season when the two teams matched up in Banner Elk. In that matchup, Wes Rogman led the way with 10 kills and hit .400 in 20 attempts in the contest. If Lees-McRae wins Saturday, it will mark the first time since the 2011 season that it has won the season series against the Falcons.
