Men’s Volleyball picked to finish sixth in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team was picked to finish sixth in the 2018 Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll the league announced Tuesday afternoon. Robert Bowling, Wes Rogman and Hector Serviat were named as players to watch for the Bobcats this spring.

Defending league champion Barton College was picked to win the conference again in 2018 after collecting 66 points and four of the eight first place votes. Mount Olive and King (Tenn.) also received first place votes in the poll with UMO picking up three and King picking up the final one.

Belmont Abbey and North Greenville came next and they were picked to finish tied for fourth with 44 points. LMC (39 points), Limestone (37 points) and Erskine (36 points) closed out the poll.

The Bobcats will open the 2018 campaign with a road trip to the state of Indiana for a pair of matches. First, Lees-McRae will take on No. 14 Ball State on Friday before facing off against Fort Wayne Saturday. Friday's match is set for a 7:30 p.m. start time and Saturday's is marked for a 7 p.m. first serve.
