HIGH POINT, N.C. – Just two weeks into his collegiate career, Lees-McRae College men's volleyball player Robert Bowling has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week by the league office Monday. Bowling is the first player of the week honoree for the program since March 27, 2017 when former Bobcat Reto Pfund received the honor.
"Robert is a physical player who has been working hard to get better with every practice," said LMC Head Coach Henry Chuang. "He has the potential to do some really good things for us this year if he keeps on improving."
Bowling was an integral part of LMC's four-set win over Coker on Saturday. Bowling totaled a team-high 17 kills on 27 attacks with just four errors for a .481 hitting percentage. The Hilliard, Ohio native also notched two digs, two block assists, one assist and one service ace.
Bowling and the rest of the Bobcats will look to get a winning streak started next Saturday when they host Alderson Broaddus at Williams Gymnasium. First serve for that match is set for 7 p.m.
