Softball Ranks High Academically

The Lees-McRae College ladies softball team was recently ranked #32 of Division II teams by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for the 2005-2006 year's team grade point average.

The Bobcats have dramatically improved their grade point averages over the past three years. In 2004-2005 they broke the top 50 by landing a #49 spot with a 3.04 gpa and have jumped up a successful 17 spots and 2 points in 05-06 with a 3.25 GPA

"The wins in the classroom are in full part due to the work ethic and personal choices that our ladies have made in the area of academics" said Head Coach Julie Kennedy. "We provide study hall and recruit players with past academic success, but ultimately they are responsible for the outcome. I am thankful our ladies have continued to display personal ownership in the pursuit of reaching their academic goals."

The Lady Bobcats will open their season at Milligan College February 9th.
