Three Lady Bobcats Named All CVAC

A trio of Lady Bobcats softball players were honored for their play this season prior to this weekend's Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference hosted by Coker College. All three are making their first appearances on the All CVAC team, each being named to the Second Team.

Salle' Horner, (pictured top left), led the Lady Bobcats in hits (43), runs (39), triples (3), and home runs (6), while finishing second in runs batted in with 27, hitting .417 this season. The sophomore from Lexington, SC started all 32 games at second base for the Lady Bobcats, finishing with a .928 fielding percentage.

Melody Jo Williams, (pictured bottom left), hit .318 in her first season with the Lady Bobcats, starting each game she played, (31), at first base. The junior transfer from Scranton, NC was fourth in runs (21) and hits (28) for the Lady Bobcats while registering a .975 fielding percentage.

Amanda Dodson, (pictured bottom right), is the third Lady Bobcats honored, named to the second team as a utility player for her play on the mound and in the outfield. The freshman from Walnut Cove, NC made 15 appearances on the mound for the Lady Bobcats, earning a 7-7 record and a 2.31 with 97 strikeouts. Dodson led the Lady Bobcats with a .420 average and tied Horner with a team high six home runs. Her 42 hits and 12 doubles were also second on the team while her 26 runs and 23 RBI were the third highest for the Lady Bobcats this season. Dodson also turned in a .978 fielding percentage.

The Lady Bobcats will play Pfeiffer University Friday morning at 11:00am in the double elimination CVAC Championships.
