CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Kristen Oakes (Lenoir, N.C.) and Brooke Sheridan (Rosman, N.C.) each tallied two hits, and Kierstie Moon (Oxford, Ga.) drove in two runs to pace the Lees-McRae College softball team on Sunday afternoon, as Queens University of Charlotte held on for a 3-2 victory in game two to sweep a Conference Carolinas doubleheader.

The twin-bill will begin at 1 p.m. due to the threat of inclement weather.

RANDLEMAN, N.C. —Taylor Billings, a senior at Randleman High School, signed to play softball at Lees McRae College in Banner Elk. She has received academic and athletic scholarships and plans to study to be a nurse practitioner.

BANNER ELK, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae College softball team has continued its busy fall in the local community by partnering with Avery County Smart Start to prepare materials for the Raising A Reader program, a project which assists child development centers and family childcare homes in Avery County help children learn to read.
