The loss closes LMC’s record on the season at 17-26, which is the team’s most wins in a season since 2011.

LMC dropped its first game of the day to fourth-seeded King by a score of 4-3 before mounting a late rally to knock off second-seeded Erskine in an elimination game, 4-2. The results Friday push LMC’s record to 17-25 on the season.

The tournament, which is under a double elimination format, will be played April 27-29 from Springwood Park in Burlington. LMC’s opening game of the tournament is Friday morning against rival King University. First pitch for that game is set for 11 a.m.

LMC won game one 5-4 after Katie Robinson notched a RBI single in the bottom of the seventh. Following that exciting victory, senior Sarah Tucker hit a walk-off grand slam in the seventh inning of game two to finish off the sweep for the Bobcats, 6-2. The victories propel the Bobcats to a 12-16 overall record and a 7-1 mark within the conference.
