Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats senior guard Dianca Jones, (Columbus, MS), has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference women's basketball player of the week for the thirteenth week of the 2006-07 season.
Jones has been on a tear as of late, averaging 30+ points in the final five games of the regular season. During the final week of the regular season, Jones averaged 33 points, 8.33 rebounds, and 4.67 steals to help the Lady Bobcats to a 2-1 record, clinching the eighth seed in the CVAC Tournament. Jones kicked off the week with a 31 point, 8 rebound, 3 steal performance at home against Limestone. Jones followed that up with a career game at Erskine with career highs in points, 39, and assists, 7, while also pulling down eight boards. Jones shot a perfect 13/13 from the charity stripe against the Fleet, and scored the game's final six points to seal the Lady Bobcat win. She closed the week with another perfect game from the line going 9/9 at home against Coker on senior day while draining 26 points and pulling down a career high 9 rebounds.

action of the CVAC Tournament Monday evening, ending their season
with a 10-18 record, (8-12 CVAC).
