Lady Bobcats Add German Standout

Lees-McRae College Women's Basketball Head Coach Sebastian Wild is proud to announce the addition of Olga Fibich to the Lady Bobcats program. A native of Lilienthal, Germany, Fibich will enroll at Lees-McRae this fall as a freshman on the 2007-08 squad.

"Olga is a proven scorer. She has all the tools to be successful and will be able to contribute right away for us," commented Wild, (pictured top left). "Once she has adjusted to the faster, more physical style of play here in the U.S., we are confident that she can become a marquee player in our conference."

At 19 years of age, Fibich is already a seasoned veteran, having played three seasons in Germany's second division and leading her team in scoring and assists in the process.
The 5'8" combo guard ranked third in league scoring last season averaging 17.8 points per game, after ranking in the top ten in scoring with 16.7 PPG in '05-'06. Fibich has also gained experience as a member of the U20 Women's German National Team.

"I am very confident that Olga can develop into a dominant force within a very short time here at LMC." added Wild. "Her skill set is phenomenal and she will only get better given her exemplary work ethic and basketball knowledge. She is a player who welcomes a challenge, and will no doubt be a very special student that will be a tremendous asset to not only our program, but our campus as well. Needless to say, we are very excited to welcome her to the Lady Bobcat family."
