Banner Elk, NC--Lees-McRae women's basketball head coach Sebastian Wild and his staff announced that Amber Coleman (Alexandria, VA) has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Lady Bobcats in 2008-09.
Coleman, a 5'8" guard out of Thomas Edison High School, averaged six points, four rebounds five assists a games as a junior. Her high school team has won the National District and Virginia Northern Regional two years in a row and were the Virginia AAA State Runner-up for the past two years. Coleman was named most improved player in 2006-07. This past summer she was selected to the All-Star Team at Virginia Commonwealth University team camp. Off the court Amber maintains a 3.25 GPA.
"Amber will make an impact for us right away next season. She brings a tremendous work ethic and a unique skill set to our program. We are convinced that she will have an outstanding career here at Lees-McRae College as a Lady Bobcat," commented Coach Wild on his newest recruit.
"We are very excited about our second recruiting class that will
join the Lees-McRae College family," added Wild. "Amber will be a
vital part to our rebuilding efforts as we are looking for the
2008-2009 class to set the foundation for a successful future here
at Lees-McRae College."
