HARROGATE, TN--The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats dropped their final non-conference matchup of the season Tuesday evening, falling 70-45 to Lincoln Memorial University. The Lady Bobcats fall to 7-19 with the loss while the Railsplitters improved to 13-13 for the year.
LMU was led in scoring Tuesday night by freshman Megan Davis.
Davis picked up three fouls in the early minutes of the game and
sat on the bench most of the first half. However, late in the
second half when LMU post player Andi Winney picked up her third
foul, Davis entered the game and went on a tear, scoring 17 points
in a little more than 12 minutes of play. Davis also went to war
on the board and led Lincoln Memorial with eight rebounds. Winney
contributed 10 points for the Lady Railsplitters while teammate
Shawna Nicols and Stephanie Wagner chipped in 11 each.
Lees-McRae was paced by Erin Thompson (Ashburn VA) who finished the game with 13 points, while Renee Roberson (Salisbury, NC) and Stephanie Mullinax (Etowah, TN) both added 11 by game's end.
The Lady Bobcats will conclude their regular season Friday evening with a Conference Carolinas contest at Erskine with the #8 seed locked up for the Conference Carolinas Tournament. Tipoff Friday is scheduled for 5:30pm.
