WILSON, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats (5-13, 3-10) women's basketball team fell to the Barton College Lady Bulldogs (14-3, 11-2) 80-55 in Conference Carolinas action Saturday night.
Ashley Holland led the Bobcats with 12 points and was the only Lady Bobcat with double-digit points. Jazzmin Tate grabbed a team high eight rebounds.
Jannetta Robinson paced Barton with 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Sophomore guard Jamila Johnson added 14 points and sophomore center Kelsey Sill contributed a career-high 13 points. Sara Fleming, Johnson, Robinson and Esty Flores notched four assists apiece.
Barton forced 28 Lees-McRae turnovers, but only committed 17. Barton scored 28 points off of the Lees-McRae turnovers.
From the floor, the Lady Bulldogs went 30-of-73, 41.1 percent, compared to 18-of-57, 31.6 percent, for Lees-McRae.
Barton also dominated the boards 54-32.
The Lady Bobcats will hit the hardwood again Wednesday, February 4th at 5:30 p.m. against Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C.
