The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats hosted Belmont Abbey College in Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference action Wednesday afternoon, with the Lady Crusaders heading home with an 18-3 victory. Belmont moves over .500 with win, improving to 8-7, (5-4 CVAC) while the Lady Bobcats fall to 1-12, (0-7 CVAC).
Tara Chmil led Abbey with five goals while Laurie Jordan also had a five point game finding the back of the net four times and assisting on one. Samantha Hooker contributed a hat trick while picking up an assist and Kerri Gut scored a pair. Meghan Darley, Shannon Farley, Theresa Nolan and Chrissy Stokes each added singles to round out the scoring for Abbey. Nolan also picked up a pair of assists and Farden one to record multi point games.
Marjie Lesser, (pictured top left), and Laura Hawthorne each scored their 12th goals of the season for the Lady Bobcats while Julia Campbell rounded out the home side scoring, picking up her eighth of the campaign.
The Lady Bobcats will return to CVAC action next Friday, hosting
the eighth ranked Pfeiffer Lady Falcons. Game time is set for
6:00pm at Tate Field.
