Cox Named Player of the Week

THOMASVILLE, NC - Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats freshman midfielder Desiree Cox has been named as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse Player of the Week for week number three.

Cox continues her torrid scoring pace for the Lady Bobcats averaging 4.67 goals in three games for the Lady Bobcats last week. In a conference match up against Pfeiffer, the Hendersonville, TN native scored two of the Lady Bobcats three goals. In a pair of non-conference games in Florida, Cox buried four goals against Rollins with all seven of her shots credited as on goal. To finish the week Cox had a career day establishing new single game highs in goals (8), points (9), and ground balls, (9).

To date Cox has played in six of the Lady Bobcats seven games and scored 26 goals, (4.33 per game); good for second place in conference scoring. Cox also ranks fourth in points with 27, (4.5 per game) and as scored at least two goals in each contest she has played.
