Cox Named Nike/Inside Lacrosse National Player of the Week

Lees-McRae College freshman lacrosse player Desiree Cox has been named as the Nike/Inside Lacrosse National Player of the Week, the first such honor awarded to a Lady Bobcats lacrosse player in program history. Cox' extablished new NCAA records for goals, (13) and points, (16) in one game against Methodist University Sunday afternoon.

For the week Cox averaged 6.33 goals per game, scoring five against St. Andrew's Presbyterian and one against Belmont Abbey before her record setting day against Methodist. Cox currently leads the nation in goals with 54 and goals per game averaging 4.91 while also leading Conference Carolinas in ground balls per game, (3.72).
