HIGH POINT, N.C. --- Lees-McRae senior Katelin Rooney and sophomore Jenah Tracy have been named to the Conference Carolinas Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Second-Team for their respective performances on the field, the conference office announced Friday afternoon.
Rooney (Naples, Fla.) had a phenomenal season while she notched 33 goals and had four games of five goals or more. The senior exploded for a season-high six goals in a 22-4 walloping of Columbia College March 15. She scooped up a season-high 10 groundballs in a 19-10 win on Senior Day against Chowan while netting five goals.
LMC finished the season 6-7 while Rooney fired 60 shots, including 49 on goal.
She averaged 4.62 shots a game and 2.54 goals per contest.
Tracy (Naples, Fla.) enjoyed a successful season with 31 goals and seven assists. She tallied a trio of assists in a loss at Erskine while producing four games of goals. She paced the team with a five-goal outburst in a thumping of Brevard, 18-0, in LMC’s season opener.
The sophomore racked up 26 groundballs and 38 points while taking 66 shots.
