Women's Lacrosse Falters to No. 14 Mount Olive

BOONE, N.C. --- Freshman Peyton LeCompte tallied a pair of goals and junior Taylor Drake dished out a trio of assists, but the Lees-McRae women's lacrosse team fell to No. 14 Mount Olive, 23-3, Saturday afternoon in Conference Carolinas action at Watauga High School in Boone, N.C.

The Trojans (13-3, 7-1 CC) had five players record hat tricks while Riann Daziel dished out a game-high four assists. The Bobcats (7-8, 3-5) secured the No. 5 seed in the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Tournament while Mia Emmerson (Orlando, Fla.) made 12 saves.

UMO jumped out to a 10-0 lead after Claire Wigler scored twice and contributed a pair of assists in the first 16:15.

LeCompte (Carolina Beach, N.C.) notched consecutive goals within four minutes of each other while Drake (Jupiter, Fla.) tossed the freshman a pair of dime passes.

Drake would later dish out an assist on freshman Tiffany Laster's (Jupiter, Fla.) goal with 8:24 remaining in the second half.

A quartet of Bobcats caused turnovers while Emmerson led the team with three groundballs.

LMC travels to No. 4 Belmont Abbey for a CC Quarterfinal Tuesday, April 21 at 4 p.m. in Belmont, N.C.
