Selfless Offense Leads to Women's Lax Manhandling of Montreat, 17-0

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. --- 12 Lees-McRae women's lacrosse players scored a goal and the defense was lights out while the team manhandled Montreat College, 17-0, on a brisk Tuesday afternoon at Pullium Field in Black Mountain, N.C.

The Bobcats (1-2) led wire-to-wire and had four players record multiple goals in the win. The Cavaliers (0-5) proved punchless by only amassing two shots all game.

Coach Lexi King's squad scurried out to a 6-0 advantage in the first 2:59 after strong play from sophomores Tiffany Laster (Jupiter, Fla.) and Peyton LeCompte (Carolina Beach, N.C.).

LeCompte accounted for a pair of goals while Laster dished out a pair of assists and scored LMC's first goal only 17 seconds into the contest.

Seniors Taylor Drake (Jupiter, Fla.) and Jenah Tracy (Naples, Fla.) joined the scoring party while Laster and LeCompte delivered dimes, 8-0.

Four different Bobcats, including Callie Gregg (Roanoke, Va.) and Sara Henderson (Huntersville, N.C.), scored in the final 16:27 of the first half.

LMC won 12 draw controls and amassed 17 shots in the first half.

Junior Joelle-Sara Prata schooled MC's goalie before dual-athletes Ashley Ritter (Vero Beach, Fla.) and Kate Brandon (Charlotte, N.C.) notched one apiece minutes later.

Junior Chartella Taylor (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and sophomore Christy Caton (High Springs, Fla.) found the back of the net in the final 10 minutes to cap off the scoring.

Senior Mia Emmerson (Orlando, Fla.) earned the blank slate with a pair of saves, both in the second half.

Six Bobcats tied for the team lead with three groundballs.

LMC welcomes Emmanuel (Ga.) Saturday at 4 p.m. for a Conference Carolinas tilt.
