HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's and women's lacrosse programs had 10 players land spots on the Academic All-Conference teams Tuesday afternoon. Both the men's and women's squads had five honorees each. From the men's team Dane Carney, William Eagle, Alex Gudewich, Allan Smith and Blaine Stottlar were recognized, while Callie Gregg, Sara Henderson, Tiffany Laster, Joelle-Sara Prata and Cheyenne Warrick were the honorees from the women's squad.
Lees-McRae had 10 of the 64 student-athletes that were named to the 2017 Conference Carolinas Men's and Women's Lacrosse Academic All-Conference Team Tuesday. The team is made up of student-athletes who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The GPA is calculated based on the student-athlete's cumulative average through the previous semester and each student-athlete must have attended their member institution for at least one academic year. Academic All-Conference Teams are comprised of juniors and seniors who play in one of Conference Carolina's twenty sponsored sports.
The Academic All-Conference Team is released each year as a part of the championship season.
Both the men's and women's teams have advanced to their respective Conference Carolinas tournaments. The men's team is in action later today at Mount Olive, and the women's squad will head to Belmont Abbey Wednesday. Both games are scheduled for a 4 p.m. start time.
