BELMONT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's lacrosse team fell in the Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals Wednesday afternoon to Belmont Abbey by a score of 20-6. The loss wraps up the 2017 season for the Bobcats, and they finish the campaign with a record of 5-10 overall.

Peyton LeCompte led LMC in scoring Wednesday with three goals. LeCompte closes out her junior season with 44 goals and five assists. Callie Gregg, Tiffany Laster and Aley Shepard accounted for the other three goals for the Bobcats in the contest.

Dayna Decesare took the loss in net for Lees-McRae moving her record to 4-9 in her first season as a Bobcat. Decesare, who made six saves in 18 attempts Wednesday, was not the only goaltender to see time in net as Samantha Thomson also saw some action as well. Thomson made three saves in 11 attempts in 30 minutes of playing time.

LMC's team will remain largely intact for the 2018 season as it will lose just three players to graduation. Overall, the Bobcats are set to return 11 players from this season's squad for next spring.
