BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's lacrosse team will wrap up its 2018 regular season with a pair of home games. First, the Bobcats will host Emmanuel Tuesday at 5 p.m., before Belmont Abbey comes to Banner Elk on Friday for a 7 p.m. first draw.

Last Time Out – Lees-McRae put together a strong effort Saturday at home, but the team ended up falling to Chowan University by a score of 14-11. The Bobcats move to 1-9 overall and 1-7 in Conference Carolinas action with the loss.

Seniors Stepping Up – The senior duo of Tiffany Laster and Peyton LeCompte were instrumental in the team's 11-goal performance against Chowan on Saturday. Laster scored five goals, while LeCompte scored four goals of her own and added an assist as well.

Samantha sets new Save mark – Sophomore Samantha Thomson registered 14 saves in 28 shots faced Saturday against the Hawks. The 14 saves set a new career-best for Denver, Colorado native. Additionally, it marks the most saves for a Bobcat keeper since Dayna Decesare stopped 16 shots against Barton last season.

About the Opponents – Emmanuel enters Tuesday's game against the Bobcats with a record of 7-8 overall and a 4-4 mark within conference action. The Lions have been an odd team in 2018 as they actually have a better road record than at home. Emmanuel is 5-3 in road contests and 2-5 in games played in Franklin Springs.

Belmont Abbey, meanwhile, still has an outside chance of earning a share of the conference's regular season championship. The Crusaders are 11-4 overall and 7-1 in league play. Individually, Belmont Abbey is led by Rebecca Luca. Luca leads the conference with 63 goals and is second in assists with 32 for a point total of 96.

Series Rewind vs. Opponents – Emmanuel and Belmont Abbey both beat the Bobcats last season. However, the Bobcats defeated the Lions in their lone trip to Banner Elk in 2016. Belmont Abbey faced LMC twice last season winning by scores of 23-1 and 20-6.
