The Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats soccer team traveled to Anderson University Tuesday evening for a Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference match up, falling 0-1 to the home side Lady Trojans.
The Lady Bobcats fired 18 shots at Anderson keeper Kelli Whitfield but were unable to solve the freshman keeper. Lady Bobcats keeper was solid in goal foiling Anderson attackers deep in the box numerous times, as well as a penalty kick to keep the game a one goal affair.
"We played outstanding in the second half of the game. Unfortunately, we just couldn't find the back of the net and we were trying to play catch-up from the first half goal by Anderson," commented Head Coach Renee Lopez. "If we come to play like we did in the second half for every game for 90 full minutes, we can play with any team. We are looking forward towards our next conference game against St. Andrews."
The Lady Bobcats will resume play at St. Andrew's Presbyterian College this Saturday afternoon.
