Novak Named to Second Team

Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats soccer player Maribeth Novak was named to the All-CVAC Second Team this evening at the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference's banquet, held in between games at the CVAC Championship Tournament.

The Homer Glen, Illinois native led the Lady Bobcats in scoring with six goals in 17 games during the regular season. The Lady Bobcats qualified for the CVAC Tournament, falling 4-2 to top seed Queen's University in the first round. Novak scored both Lady Bobcat goals to end her freshman campaign with a team high eight goals for sixteen points.

"Maribeth has been such a great student-athlete, with intensity and hard work on and off the field," commented Head Coach Renee Lopez. "I am looking forward to watching her develop as both a player and a person in the next couple of years."
