Lady Bobcats' Horn Named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Lees-McRae College's Melissa Horn (5-0-0 overall, 1-0 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's soccer Player of the Week during week number three in the 2008 season.

Horn, a freshman from Pasadena, Maryland, led the Lady Bobcats to a 3-0 record this past week stepping up big for the Lady Bobcats by scoring two goals and getting an assist. Horn started in the second match of the week for the Bobcats against Columbia College in the forward position for the first time in her career and scored a goal and had an assist for a 3-1 win. The goal was Horn's first collegiate goal. In the Lady Bobcats first Conference Carolinas match against St. Andrews, Horn had four shots on goal and the match's opening goal to give the Lady Bobcats a 2-1 victory.
