Lady Bobcats Fall 4-1 to Lady Falcons

BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats fell to the Pfeiffer University Lady Falcons, 4-1, Saturday at Tate Field in a Conference Carolinas match during Homecoming Weekend.


The Lady Falcons got on the board first in the 2nd minute on a Katie Franca header from Megan Blevins' corner kick.

Pfeiffer's second goal came in the 24th minute when Ashley Hawkins scored on Blevins' second assist of the contest.

In the 27th minute Vickie Rich (Arlington Heights, Ill.) drew a foul on the Lady Falcon keeper in the penalty box to set up Tiffany Rodman's (Corona, Calif.) goal on a penalty kick. The goal closed the Lady Falcon lead to 2-1.

But the Lady Falcons answered just five minutes into the second half when Jessica Moulton picked up a loose ball in the box after a corner kick and found the back of the net to make it 3-1.

Pfeiffer's final goal came in the 75th minute when Alyssa Wombwell fired a long shot to the far post for the goal to make it 4-1.

The Lady Falcons outshot the Lady Bobcats 17-9.

The Lady Bobcats' next match is Tuesday, October 7th at 5 p.m. at Tate Field against the Limestone College Lady Saints.
