CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Sami Striano scored two goals to give the Queens University of Charlotte Lady Royals a 4-0 win over the Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats Wednesday night at the Queens University of Charlotte Sports Complex at Marion Diehl Park in a Conference Carolinas match.
With the loss,Lees-McRae falls to 9-6 overall and 2-6 in the
conference, while Queens improves to 6-7-2 overall and 6-0-1 in the
Striano opened the scoring when she finished a cross from Amanda Wright.
Wright scored in the 34th minute when she carried the ball down the field and took a low shot that beat the Lady Bobcat keeper.
Striano struck again just two minutes into the second half. Kathryn Sylvester crossed the ball inside of the six-yard box, and Straino was able to put the ball in the back of the net for the goal to give the Lady Royals a 3-0 lead.
With just a little under four minutes left in the match, Katherine scored to give Queens the 4-0 win.
The Royals finished with 18 shots and three corner kicks and limited Lees-McRae to eight shots and two corners.
The Lady Bobcats will travel to Due West, S.C. to take on Erskine College Saturday, October 18th in a conference match.
