ANDERSON, S.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team fell to the Anderson University Trojans, 2-0, Thursday night in a Conference Carolinas match.
The loss, which drops the Lady Bobcats to 9-6 overall and 6-3 in the conference, is only the third time the team has been shutout in 2009.
Catherine Thomas scored in the 27th minute off a corner from Larissa Fedorowich to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead.
The Lady Bobcats out shot the Trojans 6-4 in the first half, but couldn't find the back of the net.
Three minutes into the second half, Anderson added an insurance goal from Ashley Cotton.
Again, Lees-McRae outshot Anderson in the half, 7-4. They also held a 4-2 corner kick advantage.
Lees-McRae will return to action Monday in a make up game against Queens at 5 p.m. at Tate Field.
