HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Lees McRae College's Vickie Rich (8-5-0 overall, 5-2-0 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's soccer Player of the Week during week number eight in the 2009 season.
The sophomore midfielder, Vickie Rich, continues to lead the Lees-McRae College offense. Rich scored three goals and had three assists as the Lady Bobcats went 2-0 this week.
In the team's first game Rich contributed on five of the six goals. She scored the second and third goals of the match in the 13th and 34th minutes. In the 34th she had an assist on a Maribeth Novak goal, then assisted Shaina Ormsby in the 88th minute. Rich ended the match in the 89th minute with a penalty kick to give her the hat trick.
In the second match against Mount Olive, Rich assisted Aerial Gregston's goal with a cross, and set Novak up for the game winner in the 81st minute. Rich currently has 34 points in 13 games for an average of 2.615 points per game.
