Morrill Adds Six for 2010 Lady Bobcats

BANNER ELK, N.C. - Head Lees-McRae College women's soccer coach Cally Morrill has announced the addition of six new players to the 2010 team.

Morrill has signed Kaitlyn Kerrigan, a center midfield, Stacy Swezey, a defender, Katy McGee, a defender, Alicia Pierson, a goalkeeper, Rachel Wojcicki, a defender, and Campbell University transfer Sarah Sims a forward/midfield, for the upcoming season.

Kerrigan, a Lakewood Ranch, Fla, native, led her high school team to the 2010 4A Final Four and signed with the Lady Bobcats over two schools in her home state of Florida.

Wojcicki was a four-year starter at Lakewood Ranch along with Kerrigan where the team went to the 2010 4A Final Four. She was All-Area in 2009 and the team's defensive MVP in the same year.

Hudson High school teammates, Swezey and McGee, will join the team this season after four years together in Hudson, Fla. The pair of defenders both made their All-Conference Teams with Swezey earning First Team and McGee taking Second Team. McGee was also named First Team All-Area.

Allicia Pierson, a Tampa, Fla. native, joins the Bobcats from Nature Coast Technical where she was team MVP and selected to the All-Star State team for the west in 2010.

Sims transferred to Lees-McRae at the start of the 2010 spring semester from Campbell University where she played in 14 games and started five.

"The 2010 class we are bringing in consists of hard working, dedicated student-athletes who will bring a wealth of soccer knowledge to our current team," Morrill said. "This talented group of freshmen will be well prepared when then enter pre-season in August. All five of these players have an opportunity to come in and make an immediate impact."
