Santerre nets Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honors

HIGH POINT, N.C. --- Junior midfielder Brooke Santerre (Port Republic, Md.) has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week after leading the Lady Bobcats to a 2-0 mark on the road against King and Barton, announced league officials Tuesday.

Santerre has come on strong over the past few matches, totaling three goals, one assist and seven points last week, while recording both match-winners. The junior halfback opened the week with her first two goals of the season against King, netting the match-winner early in the first half before adding an assist on a late goal by Vickie Rich (Arlington Heights, Ill.).

She followed that performance by netting the second of three unanswered LMC goals against Barton on Saturday, notching her second match-winner of the week. Santerre currently leads the Lady Bobcats in goals (six) and points (17) after tallying three goals and two assists against Converse on Monday night.

Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Wednesday night when the Lady Bobcats travel to Black Mountain, N.C. for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference tilt against Montreat College.
