Kerrigan tied for second in NCAA II in assists

INDIANAPOLIS --- Freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Kerrigan (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.) is tied for second in the nation in assists, announced NCAA officials Tuesday with the release of the NCAA Division II women's soccer statistics.

Lees-McRae (7-2, 3-1 CC) has won each of its last four matches, including an impressive 7-0 victory over Converse College on Monday night. The Lady Bobcats entered the week ranked 37th in winning percentage (0.75) and 43rd in scoring offense (2.38).

Kerrigan entered the week ranked second in the nation with seven assists, and after adding a helper against Converse on Monday, is likely tied for the national lead. The freshman halfback also entered the week ranked third in assists per match (0.88).

Junior Vickie Rich (Arlington Heights, Ill.) began the week ranked 81st in goals per match (0.63) and 86th in total points (11). Conference Carolinas Player of the Week Brooke Santerre (Port Republic, Md.) is likely ranked among the top 30 players in the nation in total points after tallying three goals and two assists for eight points against Converse.

Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Wednesday night when the Lady Bobcats travel to Black Mountain, N.C. for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference matchup with Montreat College.
